7 Comfy Ways To Wear a Chambray Shirt

In this post, I am sharing a few options when it comes to styling a chambray shirt.  If you don’t know what it is let me explain…

Chambray is a cotton plain-weave fabric made with a dyed warp yarn and a white filling yarn. Chambray is typically light blue in color. While it may look like denim, chambray is lighter and is woven differently. It has a softer texture than denim and is thinner in construction.  A chambray top can be used as a transitional piece from winter to spring or in place of a cardigan.  It’s a great option for someone who wants to change up their look or feel of an outfit.  It is definitely a closet staple.

Option 1 – Chambray with a Graphic T-Shirt

Graphic t-shirts were all the hype in 2020 and they are not going anywhere.  People like to express themselves through a way of T-shirt.  Pretty clever!  There are so many to choose from, umm options!  And you can have one for each day of the week, simplicity!!

Option 2 – Pair with Animal Print

I am a sucker for anything with a puff sleeve detail.  This adds so much character and really levels up any outfit. I was super excited to snag this top because it’s rare to see one like it.

Option 3 – Pairing with a Cute Skater Skirt

A skater skirt is a must-have in your closet.  You can literally pair it with anything and it will look amazing.  It doesn’t matter the print or color and when you pair it with a chambray top it is all of a sudden super chic.

Option 4 – White Booties

White booties are something I had to warm up to…once I took the plunge and added them to my collection I was so happy.  Yes, they are bright and sometimes hard to keep clean.  It’s nothing a Magic Eraser can’t handle and they literally will go with a lot in your closet.  Spring + Summer will be even brighter with a pair of white booties.  If you don’t already have a pair I recommend you get some.

Option 5 – Denim on Denim

Denim on denim became popular in the 70’s thanks to Farah Fawcett!!  It is super easy and it always looks good.  When I do this trend, I love going with a super soft chambray shirt and more textured denim.  Make sure to break it up with a color or like I did here, a snakeskin belt + mules.

Option 6 – White Denim

Everyone has white denim in their closet.  I have about 6 pairs of white jeans, and yes they are all differnt.  These are my favorite because they are stretchy and the softest ever.  I never want to take them off.  This is a look I wear typically in the Spring when temps are still cool in the evenings.

Option 7 – Tie Around the Waist

This is a perfect option for the movies or if you go to dinner and the restaurant is usually kept really cold.  You can easily throw on the chambray shirt and it’s light enough that it won’t make you too hot but still warm.  It also plays a role in body shaping.  This happens when you have something on that makes you look like you have no shape at all.
