What’s Hot at Sephora

Sephora is a place most beauty lovers feel at home.  They carry anything from makeup to hair tools – this has been my go-to store for a really long time.  There was a time where I would go just to check out what was new…Then, I would end up leaving with way more than I needed.  Now, I make it a point only to go to Sephora when I need to do a restock.  It has made a huge difference for me and my wallet…  I don’t like feeling guilty when I buy something – when I would go often, buyer’s remorse would get the best of me.  I would also hide my bags and packages from Todd because I was so afraid he would think I had a shopping addiction.  Now, I enjoy planning my trips to Sephora…one of my passions is learning all about the new launches.  This helps me plan for future purchases.  Since my Sephora visits are more strategic I feel so much better before + after I leave the store.  This is a big deal!!!  Yes?  Check out the goodies I restocked and a mini review.

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum is something I started using months ago.  It is a little pricey, $80 but it does last quite a while.  Especially, if you store it in your fridge + a pump is all you need.  The formula is one with ingredients that last twice as long at a potent state if you store it in cooler temperatures.  This is to be said with most skincare where there is live ingredients or acids of any sort.  C-Firma contains 15% L-Ascorbic Acid which is fabulous for brightening and firming the skin.  Pumpkin Ferment Extract helps to enzymatically dissolve dead skin making it look more youthful and even toned.  I love this product because I have noticed significant changes in my skin.  It is more even and I have noticed my fine lines start to diminish.  They do say that Drunk Elephant products are meant to be used together.  Honestly, it is rare that I only use one line of skincare.  The best routine for me is one that incorporates many different products from different brands.  As for my Vitamin C product, I love this stuff!!

For years I have always wanted to invest in a Natasha Denona eyeshadow palette.  I just can’t justify spending over $100!!  When the mini palettes made there debut I couldn’t resist any longer.  The color payoff is more than you can imagine with such pretty mattes + shimmers.  So much fun to play with when the quality is amazing.  It is perfect for travel given the size and you can literally create a day to night look easily.  Each color blends out like butter and the end result is gorgeous.  Natasha Denona has formulated about 8 mini palettes to achieve various eye looks.  My favorite of the collection is the Mini Nude Palette, $25.   Love…love…love…

Every girl needs an amazing setting powder, especially, one that smells like peaches.  Right?  I have been using this powder since Too Faced launched this product.  At first, the smell is what drew me in but after that, I was impressed by what its longevity.  When you apply it onto the skin it feels cool and moisturizing.  You would think it would be matte right away.  No, it does mattify your makeup but it also allows your face to move.  In most cases, setting powders make your face feel stiff like your not able to move or smile.  It does contain Fig Milk which is hydrating so maybe that’s the trick?  All in all, I love Too Faced Peach Perfect Setting Powder because it is so light and it has a brightening factor that makes the skin look and feel like silk.  You can double the product as an under the eye setting powder since it does brighten + hydrate.  You do get a lot of product in this jar, in my opinion, $33 is a fair price to pay.

Anastasia of Beverly Hills has a slew of fantastic products specializing in the brows.  My favorite happens to be the ABH powder duo in Dark Brown, $23.  My brows are 3D so I love using the powder to fill them in to make them look full.  You know as you get older certain things start to thin out – for me it is my brows.  This powder makes the process seamless and super easy.  I think the hardest part is finding your perfect shade!  Other than that, this powder duo is affordable + a must have.

I always use a lip balm!  It has become something I cannot live without… Last year, I discovered a beauty line called Laneige.  The first product I tried from their line was the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, $20.  I instantly fell in love!!  I sometimes go through a phase where my lips peel so badly – it doesn’t matter if its winter or summer.  This is why my whole lip balm + masks became an obsession.  It helps a lot.  Laneige Lip Glowy Balm is one of my favorites at the moment, $15.
