Keto Side Dishes Thanksgiving EDITION

Hey guys 👋🏼 Let’s talk about the keto lifestyle for a minute…for the last two months Todd has been doing the keto lifestyle and has lost 20lbs.  He is so amazed at how easy it has been for him to follow and how fast the weight has come off.  His sleep is amazing, has lots of energy, and feels so great every single day.  I am so happy for this guy because he has been trying for so long to find something that will work for him.  I think this is it!!

What is keto?? The ketogenic diet (or keto diet, for short) is a low-carb, high-fat diet that offers many health benefits.  It involves drastically reducing carbohydrate intake and replacing it with fat. This reduction in carbs puts your body into a metabolic state called ketosis. When this happens, your body becomes incredibly efficient at burning fat for energy. It also turns fat into ketones in the liver, which can supply energy for the brain.

All in all, this lifestyle works!!  I call it a “lifestyle” instead of a “diet” because I feel it is truly more of a lifestyle.  If you adapt your life and make these healthy transitions for the long haul it becomes more sustainable, in my opinion.  If you go about it as a “diet” it almost becomes a chore in your mind and won’t doesn’t last. You literally need to make it part of your lifestyle.

I personally am not doing the keto lifestyle but I do eat what Todd eats if it’s something I like.  For example, 6 oz filet + veggies OR egg whites omelet with shredded cheese + mushrooms.  Those are two of my favorite meals by the way.  A lot of times we end up repeating meals we love which makes it easy and something to look forward to.  Doesn’t feel “diety” or like there’s been a sudden change in our lifestyle.  Can you see why some people would like this???

Since Thanksgiving is tomorrow I thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite keto recipes.  These are literally something you’d see on the Thanksgiving buffet just made in a different way.  Still delicious and everything you want in a Thanksgiving side dish but more fitting with the keto lifestyle. YUM!

I wanted to share this in video form because I feel it’s more capturing and easy to follow.
