With so many lip products to choose from it can be overwhelming deciding which ones are our favorites. It seems to me that packaging, formulas, and beautiful color take center stage in today’s day and age. What draws me into a lip product is the way it feels on my lips, and how the color looks against my skin tone. What do you look for?
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine #54 – Boy $35 – is my favorite of all time. This is a classic pink nude color with the perfect amount of moisture. It applies really beautifully leaving your lips feeling soft and plump – not dry. I also love this color because it makes my lips look naturally better than my lip color.
L’Oreal Colour Riche #417 – Peach Fuzz $7.99 – is an amazing peach color that has a tint of frost to the formula. It is also somewhat moisturizing and long wearing. I use Chanel Lip liner in Rose Corail $29, which is also a peachy tone. The lipstick is a tad bit lighter than the lip liner but they both compliment each other well. I also use the same lip liner to fill in my entire lip to intensify the lip color. Looks beautiful.
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte #8 – Fetish Pink, $35 is a vibrant yet muted pink color. It glides on so smoothly and keeps your lips very moisturized. I have to say the lasting power isn’t all that it should be but it is pretty on the lips through the duration. Another great perk is the scent of watermelon. If you’re a watermelon lover that is… At the first application – you’ll be addicted – if the price doesn’t turn you off. I have yet to find a dupe for this luxurious find.
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain #020 – Lovesick, $6.99. This is from Revlon’s moisture range of lip stains – not the matte collection. I have yet to take a liking to the matte range, as I find them too drying on my lips. Yours? Lovesick is a sister of many great colors from the balm collection. I was drawn to this color because at the time I was looking for a vibrant color that I could wear during the spring time. I found the perfect color. It also has very good color payoff with promising staying power. I do have to admit, I sometimes apply Mac’s Lustreglass in Love Nectar -$15, on top for an added glam look. Match made in heaven!
Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Volupte Lip Gloss – Rose Satine #102, $32 (I bought this the week before YSL changed packaging). This gloss is such a precious member of my lippie family. What I love more about the older packaging is the brush tip for applying the formula onto the lips. I feel it grabs onto more product and all in all, I love the brush versus the doe foot applicator. I also like think the older look is more glamorous = me loving it. Your thoughts? Alone this charm is gorgeous – with a high glisten on the lips you will shine throughout the day or night. The scent is also captivating without being over the top too fragrant. You know what I mean?
