Do you do the occasional tea sip? I do too, and when I say, “I do too” I mean I drink tea everyday. I didn’t realize that I was catering to my fascination with tea while I was sipping on it to try to relax. Yep, I started drinking Chamomile & Lavender teas of all brands just to try to get some peaceful sleep. I don’t know what I was going through at the time. All I know, is that I needed some help unwinding from the day. Typically, I am not one who needs help in that area, but to say the least – the teas helped BIG time. In the morning when I’d wake up – I felt refreshed and ready to go on about my day. Well, I shouldn’t say everyday. There were those odd days when I just wanted to stay in bed. Then, I quickly changed my mind. As my dad always said, “over sleeping is like wasting your life away”. You can only imagine how that is now stuck in my brain FOREVER. I also don’t want to waste my life away. Along my tea journey, I started giving a go at many different tea flavors. I have to say my favorite brand is The Republic of Tea even though I don’t like the price $10. I do splurge from time to time and it does steep 50 cups of tea. Justification made!
When you open my pantry door you’ll see a variety of boxes & tins of tea blends from brands – price ranging from $2.50 – $10. I really don’t feel the need to spend anymore than $10 though, that is my absolute max I will pay for tea. I also have to love it or else it’s going back.

A couple of teas I want to talk about today are two of my favorites. Ever heard of Trader Joe’s? Absolutely love that place. The other is from a super market a few miles from my house called The Fresh Market. What I love about both stores is the feel and energy of the atmosphere. Trader Joe’s is more granola in style and Fresh Market is granola with an up scale feel. Both stores have a variety of organic & fresh grocery products to choose from. I just love how I can stroll around and look at all the different & unique items they carry. I would say this would make a perfect Sunday stop to prepare for the week ahead.
Before I go on, I wanted to list a few health benefits of drinking tea….briefly….

Tea has less caffeine than coffee. …
Tea may reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke. …
Tea protects your bones. …
Tea gives you a sweet smile. …
Tea bolsters your immune defenses. …
Tea protects against cancer. …
Tea helps keep you hydrated.
How I make this teas is very easy peasy. I use my Keurig coffee machine for the hot water – I always get the best steep this way. Since I want more than 8oz. of hot water – I run the machine twice. Today, I used a pyrex measure cup and added one tea bag of each tea. You can make it stronger if you like, but I like mine like this.
Then I fill a large wannabe Tervis glass with ice all the way to the top. I add my sweetener – I prefer Stevia (any brand). Sometimes I do go for a splash of lemon or lime juice (freshly squeezed). Voila! You have a refresher that is also very healthy for you.
This is a perfect drink anytime of the day. I also noticed that The Republic of Tea is now carrying a variety of teas for the fall season. Check that out here. Yummy. That is something I will be checking out real soon. As always, it makes my world to know that you took the time to stop by for a quick visit.
Before I go, let me know which tea you’ve been loving lately. I am always looking for the next best thing. See ya!
