If you follow my blog, instagram, or any of my social media formats you’ll know that I spent this past weekend in Boston. It was AMAZING!! The reason for the trip was for business on Todd’s behalf, but we decided to try to fit in some much needed family time too. Not only did I get to visit some of Todd’s family for the first time but I also got to join in a spin class at Fly Wheel. I was super excited about this because they have some well renowned cycling instructors. Not only that, the cycling studio was state of the art – a lot a like Spin Crazy. That is going to be a whole other post. On another day.
Back to my Boston trip….I like to think of myself as a pretty organized person – for the most part. I’m so bad sometimes – I try to organize Todd’s life too. Ahh…it’s getting to be too much. Well, just when I thought I had packed all of my well needed beauty products, clothes, and every other item that puts me together, I later found out different. I forgot my facial moisturizer, my foundation (staple – yes?), deodorant (I didn’t want to stink), and concealer. How does a person think she’s all packed up and forget the essentials of life? I am her!!! Well after a quick therapy session at the spa, I jumped into a cab and headed over to the Prudential Center off Boylston. If you’re from Boston or have visited you know exactly where I’m talking about. Not only was Fly Wheel located in the mall so was Sephora, The Body Shop, and Saks three of my favorite places.
This is what I ended up going back to the Fairmont with:
My favorite of the four is by far is Caudalie Vinosource Quenching Sorbet Creme – $39.00 at Sephora. It is very light on the skin yet provides so much moisture. I applied it straight away onto my skin and then, resumed my makeup routine. It absorbs really fast without a sticky residue or oily finish. I also believe this was my savior against the winds in Boston – no wind burn.
My second favorite would have to be the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup in Tawny – $37.00. The longevity of this foundation is amazing lasting all day & night. The coverage is just up my alley with the potential of not having to use concealer. The finish is matte with a slight bit movement (not a tight skin feeling). I also mixed in some luminizing primer by Smashbox for a glow effect – $38.00.
The next product is a deodorant that has won tons of awards in the beauty industry – one I fell in love with over and over again.
Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant – $22.00 at Sephora. This stuff is awesome!! It smells so good but not over powering. It has a powdery/floral scent that in all honesty very hard to describe. I did like that the smell did not fade once applied. You know how some deodorants fade a few hours later? Well, this one didn’t do that, and it really kept me dry all day. I was confident to raise my arms for sure. This is one to try.
Did I mention I forgot my concealer? Who does that? If you follow me on any social media platforms you already know I never leave the house without it. Well, most times. While at the Estee Lauder counter I was picking Lauri’s brain about concealers. Of course, she mentioned one from E.L’s cosmetic line – Estee Lauder Double Wear Flawless Concealer SPF 10 $22.00. I had tried many of their products before and have never been disappointed. I gave it a shot – I did’t like it at all. I LOVED it!!! It has amazing coverage, you don’t need a setting powder, and a little goes a long way. What more can you ask for???
It’s amazing what a few little beauty products can do for ya? Right? I love the fact that I haven’t tried any of these in the past – a refreshing moment. I sense a review coming soon. Well, till next time – have an amazing day and stay in the know. Always!!
What products are you really enjoying these days??
