Traveling Makeup Bag…

IMG_0186 (copy)I can’t believe that Spring is right around the corner, can you?  I feel like it was just yesterday that I was preparing for the cold months.  Well, part of me is really happy because I love Spring.  The flowers start to bloom and the weather gets really nice around here in Florida.  Its not too hot but very comfortable temperatures.  I also love this time of the year because I start traveling more often – I’m still trying to figure out why that is.  I am really excited for our first trip away which will be Boston.  I have never been to Boston but have heard amazing things about the city.  Where I live is a little slower paced and not much to do so I am looking forward to some excitement & good food.  As I start to prepare for my trips ahead, I like to start organizing my outfits, makeup, and accessories 7-10 days before my departure.  In my opinion, when you are well prepared and organized you feel less stressed about the trip.  It also allows you to think about other trip related topics like where to visit, get the skinny on great restaurants, and even make a workout schedule.

First things first, my makeup bag!  I am trying something new – light packing.  For myself, this is a really big change because I like to give myself choices – it is important to have them.  Isn’t it?  In my mind, I think the more choices the better.  In reality, do I really need 4 lipsticks, 5 mascara tubes, and 8 eyeliner pencils?  I didn’t think so.  Let’s see how I do.

IMG_0190 (copy)I think I did very well so far.  I packed one of each product I felt I needed for my makeup application each day.  This was really hard guys.  I will have no other choice but to make this work. Right?  I have taken pictures for you to get a glimpse of what I packed – we will be here all day if I list everything.  I will list my favorites below…

I couldn’t resist!

IMG_0194 (copy)-My Lorac Pro Eye Shadow Palette

-5 Eye shadow brushes: Mac 224, Real Techniques Domed Shadow, Real Techniques Deluxe Crease, Sephora Blending Eye, Sephora Smudge

IMG_0193 (copy)-Nars Hightlighter in Albatross

-Buxom Bronzer in Tahiti (gives an amazing glow finish to the skin)

-Hourglass Ambient Blush in Luminous Flush (literally gives you a flushed look at the cheeks)

-Bare Minerals Ready Foundation (I use as setting powder for “T” zone area) in Beige Medium (R250)

-Anastasia Brow Duo Powder in Dark Brown ( I use the lighter color)

-Benefit Color Correcting Eyelid Primer – Lemonaid (this is great for contouring your nose)

IMG_0189 (copy)I can’t go anywhere with out my Sigma Angled Kabuki F-84 brush.  My beauty blender is another staple I can’t live without  – as it gives a flawless finish.  LOve It!!

IMG_0198 (copy)I have narrowed my lip products to two: 1.) YSL Golden Impertinence #40 Lip Gloss; 2.) YSL Rouge Volupte Beige Ultimate #3.  I love these alone and when you apply them together it is BEAUTIFUL.  The rouge volupte lip stick is very creamy & glides on smoothly.  The gloss lasts forever without the white cast that some develop after a while.  In the swatches above, (from left to right) gloss, lipstick, and both together.

Well I think that’s about everything I need to pack in my travel makeup bag.  I feel good about this.  I have some really amazing products here so I don’t think I will be disappointed.  Do you have any tips on traveling light?  I am all ears!!!

Oh Yeah! Don’t forget to check out my latest video on YouTube: Night Skin Care Routine.

Hope you have an amazing week (what’s left of it) and fun weekend.  I leave you with this positive quote:

Try to increase the peace in any negative situation.  In the end, you’ll find it really isn’t worth all the bad language.  Live, Love, and be the one who LAUGHS the LOUDEST!!
