For a while now, I have been living with damaged hair. It all started with a simple decision to go lighter with my hair color. Someone who has naturally dark roots should always think twice before attempting going blonde. I don’t care what anyone says. I tried lots of prenatal vitamin brands but all they did was cause constipation and hunger. I didn’t ever see a change in my hair growth or skin for that matter. I also tried a few reputable hair masks from Kerastase, Olaplex, Oribe just to find out they weren’t really working either. They smelled amazing and cost a pretty penny but I was looking for more.
While making a pit stop at Target about a year ago, I heard two girls raving about this awesome hair mask. I was pretending to look at some other products but would glance over from time to time. When they left I walked over and picked up the jar of Mielle Organics Babassu Oil Mint Deep Conditioner and headed to the checkout lines. It was only $13!! I guess naturally you think the more expensive the better it will work. The less expensive it must be crap. I was surprised to find that this is what cured my messed up hair. It is so envigorating + refreshing on the scalp and so moisturizing. It never leaves the hair oily which is a huge concern of mine with any hair product. My hair loves this stuff. Every time I go to Target I literally buy two jars – I never want to run out!!
Sugar Bear Hair Vitamins (vegetarian), has been really special to me. I found these yummy gummies at Ulta but you can also order them on Amazon, same price. Thirty dollars can get you all the nutrients you need for your hair in two little gummies on the daily. They are so good you’ll want to eat the whole jar – I don’t recommend that. I can honestly say that after three weeks, I noticed less fallout and new growth faster than ever before. It’s just one of those things you just know about your hair. When it starts doing different things you just know. You just know!! Another indicator was touching up my gray roots and around my hairline. I’m not too crazy about that but its a small price to pay. I am just looking forward to having longer + healthy hair for a change. I know I’m probably making it sound like my hair was horrible because it wasn’t. It was just in really bad shape because of all the intense highlighting. I am now a brunette again and I am loving every minute of it. Those of you that say, “blondes have more fun” may have never had blonde hair.
