Best Under Eye Products

Puffiness + dark circles are not a cute look on any day.  I went through a period of time where I wasn’t getting any sleep at all.  It was a lonely period in my life because I was the only one up at 3am.  I tried everything to help but nothing worked for me.  Melatonin, red wine, hot baths, lavender, herbal teas.  Nothing worked.  Over time, I would say a six month period, I developed severe under eye puffiness and dark circles.  At first, I thought under eye filler was going to be the trick.  After spending $600 and suffering from bruising for nearly four weeks, I still found myself with the same issues.  Puffiness and even more issues, The Tyndall effect.  You can read more about it here.  At this point, I started experimenting with different products to try to improve the under eyes.

Let’s fast forward eight months, I found some really amazing products that cover well, last a long time on the skin, and don’t settle into your fine lines.

Have you ever heard of Becca Cosmetics?  Let me tell you about two products that will make you so happy right now.

1. ) Becca Under Eye Anti-Fatigue Primer.  This stuff is amazing!! It feels so good when you apply it to the skin. Instantly you feel like it’s going to work.  Then, I go in with 2.) Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector (this is not a sponsored post I swear).  This does brighten up the area and your concealer will last all day long.

I have tried one too many concealers, and find that I love Tarte Shape Tape.  This doesn’t settle into my fine lines nor does it fade during the day.  It is a full coverage concealer which is exactly what I need.  The best way to create an airbrush finish is with a beauty sponge, in my opinion.  The one I’m using is the Real Techniques Miracle Finish Sponge.  I love it!!

My next step is optional, I apply Mac Paint Pot in Ochre.  This helps to brighten the area and covers all the veins and discoloration in the upper eyelids.  This product also allows your eyeshadow to last all day long with no creasing.  If you wear light or brighter eyeshadow pigments, this will intensify those colors too.  It makes for a beautiful result.

To set everything, I use Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder.  This finely milled powder is a must do and must have.  The product will last 3-4 months easily – I use it every day.  I apply it using the Real Techniques Miracle Finish Sponge.
