Makeup is a really fun topic to discuss with just about anyone interested. Today’s post is all about how to create your own makeup bag including all the basic essentials. This is perfect for beginners! I can remember a long time ago, I was at Wal-Mart (because I didn’t have a Sephora budget), trying to figure out what I needed just to start out. Literally, my budget was anywhere from $25-$30. I learned very quickly, I had to make a plan if I wanted to achieve the makeup looks I had in mind. It wasn’t easy at first. But over time I learned to save my earnings and keep one eye open at ALL times for sales. If you do your research you can also find tons of coupons on amazing makeup brands. Here is a simple outline of makeup basics:
- Face: primer, foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer, blush
- Eyes & Eyebrows: lash curler, eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner, brow mascara/gel, tweezers
- Lips: balm, lipstick, lip liner (not pictured & optional)
*Pictured below are my recommendations based on products that I have tried myself and work for all skin types.

Always remember that these are products I thought would be a great start to a beginner’s makeup bag. Keep in mind that you are never limited to just these few items. You can build up your makeup collection one or two pieces at a time. There isn’t any rush really – just have fun with the journey. You’ll be an expert in no time. Thanks for stopping by!
